Street art is often synonymous with graffiti.
As Wooly Riot (sic), a changing group of fellow textile activists and I want to feminize street art and create soft, tactile, bright and reusable artworks - reused either as art ‘liberated’ from its site or further modified into perhaps clothing or decorative items.
Since 2012, Wooly Riot has yarn bombed sites in Palmerston North, three times receiving financial support from city and arts organisations. The slideshow below is a chronology of the major yarnbombings since then.
